The Simulation
Prompt: Develop a Mid-sized tourist attraction using less than 20,000 sqft.
The immersive entertainment industry extends far beyond major theme parks. Mid‑sized attractions play a vital role in shaping the landscape, offering creative freedom and narrative experimentation that larger companies often can’t pursue. Their flexibility brings diversity, innovation, and fresh perspectives to the experiences they create. This segment of the industry has the power to push boundaries and craft truly remarkable worlds.
This project embraces that spirit by taking a horror‑driven approach, blending emerging and legacy technologies to produce a magical effect that blurs the line between illusion and reality, inviting guests to imagine the impossible, but to beware of it too.
The Story:
Guests have been invited to Future Corp by Dr. Jim Botoxin and Dr. Eddie Sawyer to beta test their brandnew technology! Follow them though their new hyper-realistic simulation technology when an unexpected virus takes over the program and begins to test you instead. Can you make it through the viral trials in this chilling thriller walk-through experience?
Once guests have the simulator, an evil presence emerges as the virus takes over the program. It intends on putting the beta testers through a variety of tests to see how the squirm… respond. They may not be completely out of hope when they find that the original host of the simulation is still alive and has found a way out for them. Follow her instructions and they might be able to survive.
Key Art
Welcome to Future Corp! You have been invited to test out our brand new simulation technology! Its the way of the future!
The Host within the simulation can turn anything you can imagine into a reality. From the fog, images from your wildest imagination can come to life making 3D figures out of thin air.
Until the Virus takes hold. It has determined that you will no longer be beta testing the simulation’s system. Instead, it will be testing you.
You are transported further into the simulation to a room where you must decide. The Virus must test your fear. Pick 1 of 3 paths, each testing common debilitating fears.
Claustrophobia. You walk in and notice rusting walls with what seems to be bloodstains mirroring each other, but nothing happens. There is a key pad that as you attempt to press a number triggers the walls begin to close in on you. There is noting to do except wait… until UV lights flash on, a code on the wall. Put it in and escape from room 1.
As the virus prepares the next room, you wait within a hall. You hear the host. She is trying to help you escape by leaving clues on the way out.
Acrophobia
The second room you encounter is a course of jumps high above a endless pit. Can you escape without losing your nerve?
Nyctophobia
Enter a cabin full of horrible figurines and creatures that seem harmless, until the lights shut off. Hear the tapping of small feet and ominous screams. All you have to do is sit still, but can you?
Congratulations, you meet back up with everyone who separated from you, but this isn’t the end. The Virus has one final test for you. And there is no escape from this one. A airplane crash simulation will put you face to face with the end. Then a screen lights up, it’s asking for the abort code. The numbers the Host was giving you! Enter them and you land safely.
Disembark the plane and head to the light. You are safe. Then you see Dr. Botoxin and Dr. Sawyer, the inventors. Did they do this to you? Turns out the simulation was working perfectly all along, but you signed a waiver. “You may go. Send in the next group!”
For those who cannot handle the fear, you must wait in the security office for privacy reasons, but I am sure the guards have a bottle or two of something good hanging around.

Team Members
Each team member is a lab worker at Future Corp, assisting with the Beta Test Protocol that Dr. Botoxin and Dr. Sawyer have put into place. Because of their other duties in the “laboratories”, they wear lab coats to keep themselves fresh and clean. Each team member has a current futuristic project that they are working on. Each team member should be able to go into a vague description of the new invention they are working on but can’t go into depth because of all the NDA’s they have had to sign. They should always mention that their designs will change the world.
Each team member knows what is happening behind the scenes with these beta tests. They play along with a calm and happy demeanor as to not attract attention, but they are a bit sympathetic to the users who may not want to participate. They direct them to the security office to wait to ensure no information is leaked.
